How to Face Sickness with Faith

Unshakeable Faith: How to Face Sickness with Faith Exodus 3:10-15                                                    

Bottom-line: God is e_____________ you will ever need.                                    In Exodus 3:10-15 Moses stated if I go there to tell them the God of our fathers has sent me.  They will ask what is His name? What should I tell them? God answered “I AM who I AM!”                                  Say what? Tell the people of Israel ‘I AM’ has sent me.                                                     

God is everything you and I will ever need. When we turn to God and say—God, I need. . .He turns to us and says, “I AM”. 

I. When you’re __________, Trust God to ___________you.                                        Fear is a natural response to sickness or difficulty, a man who seemed to struggle with fear was Gideon.                                                Judges 6:12, 14-17, 22-24. Gideon named the altar ____________________ or Jehovah Shalom.                                          Peace is not the absence of conflict or trouble, but peace is the absence of anxiety in the midst of trouble.                                                                                                In that moment, of unbelievable fear in crisis, Jehovah, I AM, became to him Jehovah Shalom, I AM your __________. 

2. When you are ____________, trust God __________ you.                                Let’s look to David, who was the Psalmist, and the King, and in Psalm 23:1, “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.”                            The name there is Jehovah Rohi, I AM Your _________________.                                           

James 1:2-4. I want to encourage you to memorize this passage. “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4 Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”                                               

Your Next step is to memorize this passage.  What would your life be like if from a year from now if you began to respond this way to every problem before you reacted to the problem?                                                                        In that moment, Jehovah, the Great I AM, became her Jehovah Rohi, I am your Shepherd.

3. When you are _________, trust God to _________ you.                                              God is a healer.  It’s a part of who He is.                                                        In Exodus 15.  “If you listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you.”                                                                                                                           But the name there is Jehovah Rapha.  I AM your ____________.

4. When you are in ________, trust God to ____________ of you.    Abraham  Genesis 22:11-14.                                                    Jehovah Jireh, I AM your Provider. 

This series is about Faith which is ____________ to do what He says. What does God say we should do about trusting Him with our finances? 

God calls every one of us as followers of Jesus to return the first 10% of all of our income to Him through our local church.

But I want to challenge you, be obedient to God in that. 

Why is tithing so important for me to experience God as my Provider?  Because Jesus said very clearly—where your treasure is, there your ____________________.                                                                                     Next Step is take the four month challenge.   _________ challenge.                                                                                     Here’s what you are saying—For four months —I am going to tithe.  I’m going to give the first 10% of my income back to God.                       God, Jehovah, I AM, became to me, Jehovah Jireh,                                         I AM your ____________.                                     

5. when you are facing _________, trust God __________ you.                                                                                                      Jeremiah 23:5-6, “For the time is coming, says the Lord, when I will raise up a righteous descendent from King David’s line.  He will be a King who rules with wisdom.  He will do what is just and right throughout the land.  And this will be His name, the Lord is our Righteousness.”                                                                                           Jehovah Tsidkenu, I AM your ______________________.
