Unshakeable Faith: How to Face Doubt with Faith                          Mark 9:14-29

The key to the boy being healed was Prayer.  We underestimate the power of prayer.  Five truths about doubt:

1. It is Easy to Believe on the mountain but Hard not to Doubt in the valley.

2. Doubt is a sign there is a Broken Connection with God.

3. My Doubts Limit God’s power in my life.                                     Hebrews 11:6.

4. Jesus only Requires a Small Amount of Faith.

5. The Essential Tool to Overcoming Doubt is Prayer.                Prayer is essential to help us _____________ doubts and obstacles that we are facing in our own lives today.

What are the Five Biggest Doubts that enter our lives and keep us from living a life of Faith?.

1. When Difficult _Circumstances cause doubt, my Prayers Release God’s Power into my life.                                            .

Prayer is _______________________________.                                      Mark 9:23, “All things are possible to him who believes.”

If that’s you, maybe your prayer today is to simply be this—God, I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief.  Help me overcome the unbelief in my life because of the circumstances, because I have let these circumstances push me away from You.  God, be real in my life.

2. When Intellectual _________________ cause doubt, my Prayers reminds me of _____________________.                               A book called Case for Faith, it’s a reasonable defense of the Christian faith.                                                                                             Real faith is not created through intellectual arguments nor is it overcome by moral intellectual arguments.  Real faith develops when we experience Jesus in a real way.  That’s why prayer is so important, because in prayer, I am reminded of _________________ in my life.  That’s why prayer is so important, because when you are feeling down and you pray and you connect with God, He reminds you—you remember, I am real.                                                                                               If you are struggling, there has been a seed of doubt planted in your mind because of an intellectual argument.  Maybe you need to pray and come to Jesus and simply pray—Jesus, I believe.  Help me overcome my unbelief that has been caused by a seed of doubt in my mind.

3. When _________________ Christians cause doubt.                                In Mark 9:18, “I asked the disciples to cast out the evil spirit, but they couldn’t do it.”                                                                                              People have walked away from his faith because they got burned by a church experience.  It caused him to walk away from the faith. Christians aren’t perfect.  But Jesus is.                                                                 Hebrews 12:2.  “Let’s say this verse out loud together.  Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

This is why prayer is so important, especially when you are hurt by a Christian or the church, because when you talk to God, you are able to see passed that person’s imperfection, and see the perfection of Jesus Christ.

If that’s you, maybe your prayer is today needs to be this—Jesus, I believe, but help me overcome the unbelief that is in my life because of an imperfect Christian, because I have been hurt in the past.  Jesus, I believe, but help me overcome my unbelief.

4. When times of ______________________ cause doubt, my prayers allow me to hear God’s voice.

In every Christian’s life, there will be a time when you feel a great ______________ from God.  But the truth is —God never ____________ you.

I don’t know exactly why you are going through what you are going through, but God wants to use it to ________________ your faith:

5. When __________________ in my life cause doubt, my prayers reveal God’s grace to me.

“Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”  Matthew 17:20
