Changed or Unchanged?                                              Ephesians 4:17-20

In Ephesians 4:1 Paul reminds believers of their calling. He’s referring to the call at salvation. We are challenged to _________________ of our calling

I. Know where you use to live? Eph 2:1-3

“whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.” 1JN 2:6 “abides” – is a word for John’s __________________ with Christ, speaks of salvation.

II. Live a __________________ life eph 4:17                                                The call of Salvation is a call to a call _________________, out of evil characteristics of unbelievers.

A. Don’t __________________ to the old way of living.                                                       Come out and be separate.

"Beloved, I urge you as aliens and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts, which wage war against the soul"                          In those two words you find out where they are. __________ they have to do with my body, and they are called _________

"Remember that you were at that time separate from Christ, excluded from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world."    Ephesians 2:12

“They walk in the futility of their mind.”  Why does he bring up the mind? Because your ___________ determines your living.

The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge of God is understanding. Prov 9:10.

“The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.” 1 Cor 2:14.

They are ________________ from the life of God.                                                   “For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools.” Rom 1:21-22.

2 Corinthians 4:3-6                                                                                                                          Excluded means foreign, ____________ or estrange from God.  Their ignorance brought on by their Hard Heartedness. Stubborn, unwilling to learn, closed minded, a willful ________________ to remain in sin.  Rom 8:5-8, JN 3:19-20.

Unbelief _______________ the heart.                                                            Callous meaning they are without feeling, to be morally insensitive.                                                                          “having their own conscience seared with a hot iron,” 1 Timothy 4:2

“To the pure, all things are pure, but to the defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their minds and their consciences are defiled.” Titus 1:15.                                                                                                                                            “Our unsaved, unbelieving, society is so determined not to be discovered for what it is that it stands unflinching as its very life and vitality is ripped apart by the sins and corruption it holds so dear. It has become callus both to the reality and to the consequences of sin, and will endure any agony rather than admit that its way of living is the way of death.” John MacArthur.

Unbelief Leads to _________________

“This is the way of an adulteress: she eats and wipes her mouth and says, “I have done nothing wrong.”  Proverbs 30:20 Proverbs 30:18-19 “There are three things that are too amazing for me, four that I do not understand:  19 the way of an eagle in the sky, the way of a snake on a rock, the way of a ship on the high seas, and the way of a man with a maiden.

You didn’t ___________ Christ in this way. Eph 4:20                                                            “And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.”  1 JN 5:20
