Do you have any trophies? What does a trophy represent?

Circumcision of the Heart – Col. 2:11-14 – v. 3a

1. An authentic Christian worships in spirit and truth - v. 3b

2. An authentic Christian glories (boasts) in Christ alone - v. 3c

3. An authentic Christian puts no confidence in the flesh - v. 3d

Summary statement: An authentic Christian is a person who puts Christ at the center of all of life, elevating Him above all else.

What is “the flesh?”

Eph. 2:1-3 - “You were dead...”

Three enemies of the saint: The world, the flesh & the devil

Col. 3:5, Eph. 4:22, Proverbs 16:18

Killing the flesh starts with dealing a death blow to pride

1 Cor. 15:7ff “Yet not I but through Christ in me.”
