We trim it, we cut it, we shave it. Hair is understood in different ways in different cultures. The Bible says God knows each hair on our head. In the Bible hair is used to trap, sometimes it is used as a disguise, and sometimes it is used to connect with God. Yet despite hair being such a ubiquitous body part, it is not often mentioned in Scripture. So when it is, Scripture calls for us to pause and unpack the meaning of the story, because if we don't tend to our hair, it can become unruly.
