Focus on Things Above
February 09, 2020
Rev. Dennis R. Hartman
This passage has a purpose for those who believe. Paul’s prayer was for thanks that they had received the Gospel and responded to it. Then he goes on to tell them, and us that it is his, and my desire to see you filled full with the knowledge of God’s will, so that you would walk worthy of the Lord; so that you would bear fruit in all good works; so that you would increase in the knowledge of God; and so that you would give thanks, with grace, to the Father for their portion with the saints! Like Paul, I want to get your mind on the things that matter; the things that have eternal significance, so that your attention is on the truth.
