This is not a sermon - this is a political essay. It is an attempt to explain why we are so divided, why the United States is worth saving , and what ordinary people like you and me can change in ourselves to reduce the polarization in our country. I tried to write in a way that would make sense to both progressives and conservatives which probably means I probably just annoyed everybody! Although I know my faith informs my positions, this audio article is meant to be a argument limited to the realm of human politics and I hope it will be useful to you whether you have any faith or none. I welcome your honest critique and value one on one conversations when possible. My email is Langdon@levpres.org : The article on how the more news we consume the more distorted our views is found here: https://www.nationalreview.com/2019/06/americas-most-educated-engaged-citizens-are-making-politics-worse/ : The two news sources that strive for balance I mentioned are: https://www.allsides.com/unbiased-balanced-news https://www.ground.news/ : I am sure I stole many of these ideas from many people. I am aware of one I heard just this week - I am grateful to Dennis Prager for the pressure valve analogy.
