Trying to raise kids well is one of the biggest challenges of life. But getting along well with our extended family can be a close second! Today we look at how we can bring spiritual disciplines to our families – that we might honor God in the way that we treat them. And we begin in the strangest way… by taking parenting tips… from a Klingon !

If you are a parent, do your kids ever drive you crazy ?

Did you ever feel at your wit’s end about the right way to raise your child ?
Growing up, did your parents ever drive you crazy ?
Was your relationship with your parents ever strained or distant ?
Are you, even now, still trying to figure out what it all meant ?
Families can be messy…
Proverbs 22:6
Train children in the right way, and when old, they will not stray.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother”– which is the first commandment with a promise–“that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife…Better to live in a desert than with a quarrelsome and ill-tempered wife.
How we deal with our family is a crucial part of our relationship to God.
