The theological liberal movement began in the 19th century and prided itself on casting doubt on the Bible as the inspired Word of God. Today, we are dealing with the fruit of those ideals that were planted back then and they look a lot like the ideals detailed in the last of the seven churches of Revelation, Laodicea. This is the church which is considered to reveal the "Last Days" attitude of the Church. When Jesus returns, will He find faith on the earth?
