Light and Life

Series: Easter 2018

April 08, 2018
Rev. Jake Allstaedt

In our Epistle lesson for today, John makes a distinction between walking in darkness and walking in light. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Walking in darkness is to deny, reject, or suppress the truth of our sinfulness and our need for Jesus' forgiveness. And we can't walk in darkness forever...eventually darkness means death. But thanks be to God! Jesus has come to bring light and life!
