The Purpose, Practice & Power of Prayer - Part 2

Purpose Recap: Why do we pray?

I’m in a war, actually at war...I’m living my life to the Glory of God(righteously)...that is my armor...His strategy now is PRAYER...this is my realm and reach for prayer...I’m watchful and alert...I involve Him in everything I do...I invite the miraculous!

PRACTICE: How do I pray?

Suggestions: -scheduled prayers -drive time -set up prayer reminders -pray for drop in visitors

Making mention - Ephesians 1:16, 1 Thessalonians 1:2, Philemon 1:4

The Power of Prayer: What kind of prayer is most effective?

James 5:16 - “...the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”

Righteous = dikaios: upright, observing divine laws, living according to the Word. Describes a person whose way of thinking, feeling, and acting is wholly conformed to the will of God.

Powerful = energeo: energized by the power of God. Always refers to supernatural empowerment.

Effective = ischuo: to be a force capable of extraordinary deeds

“THE PRAYER OF A MAN OR WOMAN OF THE WORD IS ENERGIZED BY THE POWER OF GOD, AND IS A GREAT FORCE CAPABLE OF EXTRAORDINARY DEEDS!” James 5:16 PSP

The more you God’s Word, the more He your prayers.

Romans 3:23 - John 3:16 1 John 2:1-2 1 John 1:9

“So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.” Hebrews 4:16 NLT

Pray...Keep Praying...Be Alert...Pay Attention...Keep Praying!
