In our current sermon series, we are reminded that because of the power of the Gospel, we are UNCHAINED ... set free to live free lives as believers in Jesus Christ. As we look through the lessons contained in the book of Galatians, we get an opportunity to realize our full spiritual potential through this freedom we enjoy. This week's message from Galatians 6:1-5 challenges us to look closely at how we deal with the difficult issue of helping others struggling with sin--balancing a gentle attitude with firm conviction and caution, lest our or pride or temptation get the best of us.

Episode Notes

Galatians 6:1-5, Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor. For each will have to bear his own load.



BIG IDEA:

Love motivates the Christian to restore fallen brothers



1.  Be spiritual

Galatians 5:16, 23, But I say, walk by the Spirit…  The fruit of the Spirit is…  gentleness…



2.  Be gentle

Matthew 18:15, If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother.



3.  Be humble

1st Corinthians 1:31, Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.
