Series: Unchained

We all deal with things that make us weary ... traffic, the news, kids, jobs, etc. But in this week's message, we turn our focus on not growing weary in doing things that are considered "good" in God's eyes. We are reminded that because of the power of the Gospel, we are UNCHAINED ... set free to live free lives as believers in Jesus Christ. As we look through the lessons contained in the book of Galatians, we get an opportunity to realize our full spiritual potential through this freedom we enjoy. This week's message from Galatians 6:6-10 will encourage us in our continued efforts at living and acting like those who have been freed from the pain and guilt of sin.

Episode Notes

Galatians 6:6-10, Let the one who is taught the word share all good things with the one who teaches. Do not be deceived:God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.

Big Idea:  Don’t give up!  The good you do is an investment in eternity.

1.  Teaching the Word is essential in the Church.

Hebrews 5:12-13, You need milk, not solid food, for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the Word of righteousness, since he is a child.

2.  Teachers need the freedom to study, meditate, and pray.

Acts 6:4, But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word.

3.  Your generosity supports the teaching ministry.

1st Timothy 5:17-18, Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching. For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle an ox when it treads out the grain,” and, “The laborer deserves his wages.”

Next Step:
  • Am I growing weary?
  • Am I walking by the Spirit.
  • Is what I’m doing really “good.”
