Part 5: Heavenly Minded

Turn your eyes on Jesus

You have been raised up with Christ to walk in newness of life. Romans 6:4

Set your heart/mind on Christ above seated at the right hand of God.

You have died to your sin. Romans 6:7

 Your life is hidden with Christ in God

Therefore:

Put to death & put off all the habits & attitudes that don’t fit anymore.

• We should be thrilled to do this b/c of what Christ has done for us.
• Putting them to death: isn’t that a little gruesome?
• Putting them off: this isn’t flattering to you or to Christ

Clothe yourself with Christ: put on the new self

• This is God’s will for you because He loves you and He wants you holy.
  
• In your heart: compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience
  
• Bear with one another and forgive each other as Christ has you.
  
• Put on love the perfect bond of unity.
  
• Let the peace of Christ rule in your heart in thanksgiving.
  
• Let the word of Christ dwell richly in you & share it with others.
  
• Do everything in the name of Jesus.
  
• Give thanks to God by how you live in the name of Jesus.
