SPIRITUAL WISDOM

Series: JAMES

October 01, 2018
Rev. Jason Gaskin

I have never been impressed by the person that has read the bible cover to cover (sorry if this is you...). Nor have I been impressed by the person who has attended church and Sunday School all their lives (again sorry...). Sometimes we might get confused into thinking that the more we know the wiser we are. The book of James says that wisdom is not displayed by what we know... but instead, it is by the kind of life we live. Is our life all about us? Is it all about what we know? Is it about our way? All about how we think the world ought to work? This is the wisdom of the world. Spiritual wisdom is "peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without a trace of partiality or hypocrisy." Jesus' call to disciples was never to be master theologians of the Bible, but to be a people that seek to master a verse, "live a life of love as Christ loved us..."
