The manifested Word of God

John 1:1-14

1. The word became flesh.  

The spiritual word became the tangible manifested word. The declared word became flesh-Greek word (sarx) living substance

Jesus and the word are one -

Jesus is the word the word is Jesus. 

Jesus in the flesh was the manifested uncovered visible tangible word of God demonstrated on the earth.  

The word which is spiritual and life-giving became flesh tangible manifested   

1. The word is the will of God

John 5:19

Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. 

John 12:44-50

44   Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me. 

45   And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me. 

46   I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. 

47   And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. 

48   He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. 

49   For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. 

50   And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak. 

1. You must be totally reliant on Jesus. You must be totally reliant on the word

In Jesus,- in the word,-is the fullness of God. Everything that you need is in Jesus,-in the word. The answer to every problem is in Jesus,- in the word. 

Ephesians 1:19-23

19   And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,  

20   Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, 

21   Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: 

22   And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, 

23   Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all. 

When the word is operating in the body of Christ. The spiritual word becomes visible, and tangible.  Jesus is revealed in his fullness. 

When you preach Jesus you preach the gospel you preach the word.  If you are preaching any word that is not Jesus then you are not preaching the word of God or the gospel.  But if you are preaching what is in the word of God then you are preaching Jesus whether it is Old Testament preaching or New Testament preaching you must preach the word which is Jesus. 

1. The word has authority 

Jesus said all Authority in heaven and in earth is given unto me. 

After saying this he then told his disciples to go. He gave the word of authority to them to preach to heal the sick to cast out devils and to announce the coming of the kingdom. 

You and I have been given the word. We have been given Jesus.  

Matthew 28:18-20

18   And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 

19   Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  

20   Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. 

I am with you always - the word of authority is with us always

I have authority given to me by the word

1. Jesus is the sent word 

Psalms 107:20

He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. 

Matthew 8:5-13

5   And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, 

6   And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. 

7   And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him. 

8   The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. 

9   For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. 

10   When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. 

11   And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. 

12   But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 

13   And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour. 

This man understood the relationship between the word and the one who sent it. 

When we preach the Word we preach Jesus - we send the word we send Jesus. When we share the word we share Jesus. When you receive the word you receive Jesus. 

1. You are born again by the faith you put in Jesus. By the faith you put in the word. 

Romans 10:8-10

8   But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 

9   That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 

10   For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 

You and I are born again through the blood in the word. Now we belong. We are citizens of heaven. 

I have a birth certificate which legally proves my citizenship. As a citizen I have rights and some authority that's been given to me.  

I was born again now I am a citizen of heaven I have a legal rights and authority that has been given to me

Satan has no legal rights at all

1. Continue in the word continue in Jesus

John 8:31-32

31   Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 

32   And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
