6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Episode Notes

Continuance -the lost virtue

Many things in life can be a wonderful blessings. Things that are not completed often don't show the full beauty.

Example:

-you may have a nice haircut but if you're Barber quit halfway what would you think about it then?

-The plans for a new house in the computer animated design might look beautiful but if the builder quit halfway you will never experience the fullness of the beauty.

-A painter and his mines I can see the picture he is wanting to paint but if he stops halfway no one else will be able to see it.

Ecclesiastes 3:11

He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: .

Philippians 1:6

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

God will not quit on you don't quit on Him!

Don't start and stop your Christianity.

1 John 1:5-10

5   This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

Light - pure and brilliant. You cannot alter the character ,contaminate, or dilute light.  It can be shaded, bent and twisted, split and broke down. But what ever you do to it does not actually change what light is at the source.

Light- is powerful and overcomes darkness. You cannot turn on the dark you can only turn off the light. When the light is present, darkness must flee.

6   If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

7   But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

There are two words in these verses that I want to expound on; Fellowship and walk.

Fellowship

What is fellowship?

Is it more than a gathering together in the same location. It Is more than eating a meal together

Fellowship - koinonia. Contributory help participation and communion (koionia) What is shared in common is the basis of fellowship.

What you share in common is the foundation of fellowship. But fellowship must have these three attributes.

1. Contribute

2. Participate

3. Communion - intimate exchange

Communion- an intimate exchange on a mental or spiritual level

Walk- to make one's way, progress, to make do use of opportunities.

1)To regulate one's life

2)To conduct one's self

3)To pass one's time in occupying one's life

Walk- fellowship-cleanses -In the present continuance tense

The blood of Jesus does not cleanse in the dark.  - you must walk into the light.

If we choose to continually walk in the light.

If we continually have fellowship with one another

The blood of Jesus continually cleanses us of our sin

8   If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

9   If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10   If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
