Three Steps to Change                                                        Philippians 3:12-14                   

Living the Surrendered life isn’t easy, but it is better, much better than living the _________________ life.  We must make the decision ahead of time, “All to Jesus I Surrender.”         

I. Honestly Realize You Have Not ______________ Phil 3:12 

He was pressing on.

 

II. Honestly Release the Things ________________. Phil 3:13                                                                                              If you are ever going to be changed, you have to ___________ some things.

We must forget those things which are behind. They may be good things, _____________.

You may have some things in your past that you are ashamed of, things _____________ .

How do we forget? The principle of ______________________.

 

III. Honestly Reach for things _____________ You Phil 3:13-14                                                                                It suggests a goal toward which Paul was striving to achieve. What was that goal? ______________________.  

Charles Stanley said, “One of the most important questions you can ever ask is, ‘What goals does God desire for me to set and to achieve, and in the process, to be a success in His eyes?’

John Maxwell said, “The greatest achievers in life are people who set goals for themselves and then work hard to reach them.”

When we lose sight of our goals, we lose the will to change.   Florence  Chadwick:   When she lost sight of her _________, she lost the will to continue.

In order to change, we must forget some things which are ___________.  We must strain for some things which are ___________.

One thing:  What is the one thing in this passage? 3:13-14.                It is not forgetting. It is not reaching. : ______________________.

Desiring others to be changed                                                        My children, with whom I am again in labor until Christ is formed in you.” Gal 4:19

What keeps us from being CHANGED?                                                                         “Whatever Prayer”:  Lord, whatever you want me to do, I will do. Wherever you ask me to go, I will go. Whoever you ask me to love, I will love. Whatever you ask me to give, I will give.

When you surrender to God, you surrender to ___________.

“For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11.
