How God Speaks to Us  P2                                                              Hebrews 1:1-2

“In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.” Heb 1:1-2,

God does speak—now one way, now another— though man may not perceive it.”  Job 33:14

HOW DOES GOD TALK TO US?

God speaks by the Holy Spirit through the Bible, Prayer, Circumstance, and the church to reveal Himself, His purposes and His ways.                                                         

1.  GOD SPEAKS THROUGH THE _____________.  

Hebrews 4:12; 3:7-8                   

2. God Speaks through ____________: Impressions                                                    "But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” John 14:26.                                                         

Warning:  Always ________ an impression. 

3. God Speaks through _______________________                                               

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” 2 Cor 12:9

The will of God will never lead you where the grace of God will not sustain you.       

“Before I was afflicted I went astray, But now I keep Your word. 71 “It is good for me that I was afflicted, That I may learn Your statutes.”   Psa119:67, 71

4. God Speaks through the _____________: Gifted Teachers    "when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is at work in you who believe.” I Thes 2:13                                                       

“This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.”    1 Cor 2:13

Why is it so Important to really Hear God speak? 

1.  It is _______________ me that I'm in God's family.        "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.  JN 10:27                                       

2.  It Protects me from _______________.                                                              Job 33 "16 he may speak in their ears and terrify them with warnings, 17 to turn man from wrongdoing and keep him from pride.”
