In this final part of our Dreams Series, we talk a about when things don't seem to be working, and how sometimes we need God to give us a different perspective.

Episode Notes

PLEASE NOTE: Today's notes do not exactly follow the message that was delivered!

(Is. 55:9) For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.

God existed before time and He stands outside of time

ü He sees the past- everything that went into what we experienced

ü He sees the present-all we are seeing, thinking, feeling, and considering

ü He sees the future-what will happen & all possible outcomes

(2 Kings 3:6-24- NKJV)

King Jehoshaphat’s ‘bright idea’ was to ask God for: ___________

(2 Kings 3:16-20) 6 and he said, “Thus says the Lord: ‘Make this valley full of ditches.’ 17 For thus says the Lord: ‘You shall not see wind, nor shall you see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, so that you, your cattle, and your animals may drink.’  18 And this is a simple matter in the sight of the Lord; He will also deliver the Moabites into your hand. 19 Also you shall attack every fortified city and every choice city, and shall cut down every good tree, and stop up every spring of water, and ruin every good piece of land with stones.”20 Now it happened in the morning, when the grain offering was offered, that suddenly water came by way of Edom, and the land was filled with water.

ü Because what He sees is different than what we see, He’ll often ask us to do something that doesn’t seem to make any sense to our natural senses!

(2 Kings 3:13) …No, for the Lord has called these three kings together…

God isn’t out to ‘crush you’. What He really wants to do is show Himself strong through you!

(1 Peter 5:8) …your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

The things God sets before us to do to overcome the challenges and the problems that we face usually won’t look anything like the things we’d think of on our own…

(Gal. 6:9) And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart

How do we ‘dig’?

Ø  We pray & we praise

Ø  We confess the Word

Ø  We tithe & We serve others instead of ourselves

Ø  We don’t stop because of resistence

Resistence in our lives is like sweat in a workout… it doesn’t mean we’re doing something WRONG; it means we’re doing something RIGHT!

Sometimes, the place where we feel most ______ is the place where we are most sensitive to the direction of God in our lives.

When the going gets hard, most people _____________

(Prov. 3:5-6) Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

ü God can’t fill ditches we don’t dig
