Because God is Holy

Jesus said, "If ye love me, keep my commandments." (John 14:15)  Could it be that Jesus was saying that the true standard of our love for Him is our own holy living?  If that is the case, then the church is in a sad, sad state.  No wonder Jesus also said, "And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold." (Matthew 24:12)
