Gathering in God’s Name

Palm Sunday Parade
This morning we begin on Dahlia Street, shouting our hosannas as Jesus passes into Jerusalem. We will then make our way into the Sanctuary for worship.

Prelude
Chorale Prelude on
“All Glory, Laud and Honor” Johann Sebastian Bach

*Processional Hymn
88  All Glory, Laud, and Honor (Valet Will Ich Dir Geben)

*The Palm Sunday Psalm (Unison)   Psalm 118: 19, 22-24, 26-27, 29
Open to me the right paths
that I may walk in them and give God thanks.
The stone that the builders rejected
has become the chief cornerstone.
This is God’s doing.
It is wonderful in our eyes.
This is the day that the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Blessed is the one
who comes in the name of the Lord.
Bind up the festal procession with branches,
up to the horns of the altar.
O give thanks to the Lord, for God is good,
God’s unyielding love endures forever.

*Response   What Wondrous Love (Wondrous Love)

*The Passing of the Peace
Please greet your neighbors with: The Peace of God be with you.

Listening for God’s Word

Word to the Children
*When the music begins, the children are invited to gather on the chancel steps.
This, this is where children belong, part of our family, part of our song. Be with us, pray with us, help us grow strong: this is where children belong.

Prayer for Illumination  (Unison)
Whatever our wilderness, may we step into it with courage;
trusting that you, O God, are with us always.  Amen.

Call to Prayer
The Royal Banners Horatio Parker
O tree of beauty, tree most fair
Ordained those holy limbs to bear;
Gone is thy shame, each crimsoned bough
Proclaims the King of glory now.

Prayers of the People and the Lord’s Prayer  (Unison)
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come; thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
