5. The Principle of Sowing and Reaping

Introduction

Genesis 1:11-12 (NIV) Then God said, "Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds." And it was so. The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

Genesis 1:29 (NIV) Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.

Eccles. 3:1-2 (NLT) There is a time for everything… A time to plant and a time to harvest.

  • We know is that, no matter what kind of economy it is, God has said this law of sowing and reaping will remain as long as ____________________________.

Genesis 8:22 (NIV) "As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease."

YOU WILL NOT ENJOY THE BLESSING, FAVOR AND PROVISION OF GOD APART FROM LIVING BY THE LAW OF SOWING AND REAPING.

  • Two areas of sowing and reaping:

a.      The _________________

b.      The _________________ – this area requires us to live by _______________.

Galatians 6:7-8 (NIV)   Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

Hosea 10:12 (NIV) Sow for yourselves righteousness, reap the fruit of unfailing love…

b.      _____________________
